 Meet Dr Seona Gunn-Kelly DC, MChiro, BA Hons

Chiropractor, Applied Kinesiologist, Sports Medicine Graduate, Coach and Author

Introduction
I have been in the health/fitness/wellness industry since my early 20s, first completing my BA Hons Sports Studies degree
and working in gyms and aerobics studios - I've taught everything from GP Referral Programmes to body pump and spinning classes - I ended my gym career as a head personal trainer in a swanky gym called HealthQuest in Bournemouth, but decided I wanted to shift gears and in my early 30's I trained for 4 years to become a registered chiropractor.

I've been qualified for coming up 17 years now and I have developed a unique way of helping people reach their health and wellness goals, in my Pilates classes, through in person treatments and group and individual online coaching, understanding the hypermobile body and mind and what you need to feel secure and safe in your own skin. 

My unique approach to the care I provide stems from being in pain from a young age. First I tried to fix myself with exercise, then nutrition, then numerous treatment protocols. I went to chiropractic college to discover a solution,  however I received too many practice treatments at chiropractic college, which left me in more pain than before I entered Chiropractic school. What I know now is that the multiple chiropractic adjustments, combined with my hypermobility and my poor body awareness was always going to create more problems than cure them. Every day I continued my quest knowing that there was a solution for me and I've never given up because what is the alternative...... to live with pain????.

It wasn't until I combined Pilates with sensible nutrition and gentle/non clicking/cracking monthly body treatments, meditation and mindfulness that my pain started to ease. In the last decade I have learned about epigenetics and the control of the environment over gene expression, this is when everything started to change for me Bruce Lipton's Pioneering book The Biology of Belief - The Wisdom of your Cells was like a a thousand light bulbs going off in brain and body and with this new knowledge launched a whole new chapter of my life. My journey has helped me develop my understanding of the links between the physical, emotional, spiritual and nutritional health of a person and how deeply intertwined they are,  they all need to be balanced for our bodies for us to feel harmony.

Over many decades I have honed and continue to develop my unique take on harmoising the body and mind for long term and effective health and wellness outcomes.  This is what I strive for every client I see, to restore your balance and equilibrium, care for all aspects of your health and teach you along the way how you can be your own guru and self-help guide.

I have been on this journey for over 10 years now, as a chiropractor, health and wellness coach, and pilates instructor.
